Want to be successful on Twitter?
Hubspot has an article with some useful data on how tweets succeed — or fail.
Here are some of the key takeaways:
1. Tweets with images are 34% more likely to be retweeted
My own Twitter data backs this up. In fact, my photos perform even better — I see about 77% more retweets when I include an image.
If you want people to click your tweets, there’s no question — you must include an interesting image to go along with them.
2. Putting the URL in the middle of a tweet results in 26% more retweets
I personally need to do this more. Try adding some hashtags after your URL or crediting the original source. For instance: (via @vincefavilla)
3. Tweets with hashtags get 33% more retweets.
This is easy to overlook because #hashtags don’t seem to make a difference. But statistically, you’ll be more successful over time if you do this. Especially when you’re using popular or trending tags.
